Brief Bio

Ningyo are creatures from Japanese mythology, often described as fish with humanoid or monkey-like faces, sometimes resembling mermaids. They are distinct from Western mermaids, with some legends describing them as grotesque, while others focus on their ability to grant immortality through their flesh. Capturing a ningyo is often associated with bad luck, but their appearance can also be a warning of impending storms or other disasters.
